However the architecture of my desk required a monitor no larger than about 21 inches and only 27 inch monitors are available now. My search for a suitable replacement was rewarded with the computer described above. My dealings with OWC were exemplary, their web site showed two or three computers that would meet my needs, my phone conversation with the knowledgeable woman I dealt with was pleasant and effective and resulted in my order. The computer arrived within a few days, it was well packed and after transferring the data from my old machine and using it for some time it does fit the description "mint condition". I am very pleased with my first venture into purchasing a refurbished computer.

The 21.5 inch size will fit in any cramped dorm space, and i7 Quadcore and 16GB RAM can handle all tasks for a very affordable price that allows for having both a decent iMac in the dorm (to read the voluminous online materials in comfort) and a 13" MacBook Pro for the shorter class/study sessions away from the dorm.
