Rating: 5/5 Best Apple computer ever made? October 28, 2022 This is still an excellent machine. Especially if you still need Intel silicon. This machine is powerful, super quiet, responsive, and runs pretty much all software(Intel binaries) natively or in a virtual machine OS of your choosing(Linux, OpenBSD, etc). I expect this machine to last a long time. I have had many MacBook Pros and all of them have had issues. Apple never got the thermal management on the Intel MacBook pros right. OWC's price was hard to resist. Now that I have this I am glad I saw OWCs deal on it. If you need Intel for any reason, you will not be sorry. Apple silicon will not run some of the software I need to use.

Rating: 5/5 These machines are really good! May 27, 2022 I have 5 of these machines with 12 cores total and 128Gigabytes of RAM. I use these computers for music composition and they really work! I have heard others down play this machine and give it that name "Trash Can Mac". But I don't need a machine that you can add lots of graphic cards and other devices internally, again most of us don't do that anyway. I purchase these machines that appear in excellent condition (Not all scuffed up or scratched), they look new. And think about it, the Mac Pro is very powerful (Up to 2 CPUs - 12 Cores) and 128Gigs of RAM! WOW! That is a truck load. Plus the machines are affordable and OWC gives you a warranty of you want one too! That's pretty nice. I had a Mac studio (Has some software and hardware issues) and the total amount of RAM is 32 Gig. I needed much more to compose my music with all the instruments and 32 Gig was not enough. It did have the M1 Max which was the only real nice thing about it. But I returned it and purchased another one of these Mac Pro computers. The Mac Pro was less money than the mac pro and you really do get allot for it. There is nothing wrong with these machines. I like them. And when I need more, I'll go to OWC and get more of them. It looked as new, no visible blemishes, very clean. Other items in the order were a mouse and keyboard, one listed in very good condition, one listed as new in apple package, also met expectations. The Pro fired right up, went through the typical configuration bit, did it's updates and is running very smoothly. About this mac indicates all specs were met. This unit is truly a powerful mac and a solid option for those not quite ready to drop $7500 or more on a new Mac Pro. I have recommend OWC machines as an option to friends and colleagues. Products have always met my expectation, so I couldn't say how the customer service is. They got it right the first time, so far.

One online auction site had them, untested and as-is, and for ridiculous prices. I then remembered OWC from iFixit articles and my earlier Mac years. OWC had very competitive prices on 2013 Pros and offered good support, as well. I went for it. This Pro arrived in good time and was packed extremely well. This unit arrived with some deep scratches and other wear typical of this vintage, but otherwise works well. While this model is a good performer, I still feel the performance should be a little better for the price point. I know OWC didn't make the computer, so no complaints with them. For the model year, it has decent connectivity and after a Time Machine restore I was up and running with no issues. I work and live in the macOS world and I'm pleased overall with this machine compared to previous Macs. I hope to get many years of service from this! Thanks OWC!

Rating: 1/5 Very disappointed.....frustrated.....[insert bad word here]. December 9, 2021 I appreciate OWC, I think they do a great job of providing a spread and competitive pricing. I am not a computer guy. So when I needed a new Mac for my 3D modeling business (yes I SHOULD be a computer guy), I came to OWC. I looked at the newer ones, but loved the concept of a maxed out older Mac Pro. My problem is that the listing is not direct or clear that Thunderbolt 2 has been phased out and that the 6 ports available are nearly useless. Not being a computer guy, had no idea of the limitation I was buying into when I purchased my pretty brick. I would be much happier if they offered a solution to this, but that is not the case. Going from TB2 to USB-C requires a NASA degree and I graduated high school. I have 100$ of products per port attempting to convert the port....although it seems okay in concept, yet to be proven to work. In addition, having a maxed out unit doesn't mean it won't be slower than your original 2017 iMac, this new Mac Pro has noticeable lag issues for having 1000 cores and lots of RAM. Overall, sad experience and now my Christmas present to myself is holding down paper on my work desk. The return policy isn't fit for this situation since I *should have known* I was buying a lemon - shame on me. I will probably be back, but this mis-marketing has put a terrible taste in my mouth. Recommend you stick to the newer units because if they are for sale, there is a, maybe not so upfront reason, for being so. Merry Christmas!

Rating: 5/5 I really like this machine. November 12, 2021 Hi purchased my original Mac Pro back in 2016. I'm working on a music project for my music business and this Mac Pro really works. It's the 12 Core Xeon E5 with 128 Gigabytes of RAM. So I purchased 3 more of them. The machine is small but powerful. I'm very happy with my purchase. Again, think about it this way. The Mac Pro has a warranty that is offered by OWC, there are no moving parts so it's not like a used car. It's a computer. It does the job. Yes you can purchase a new Mac pro for a-lot more money, that is your choice. But for me it was about load balancing with many Mac Pro's with a special piece of software for my business. Having 1 super duper and expensive Mac Pro wouldn't have worked due to the software limitations. So I have 4 of these Mac Pro computers and they all work great for my needs. Think about what you want to accomplish with the computer first. I'm so glad OWC had these Mac Pro's available to purchase at a fraction of the cost of buying a new one. It made perfect sense!
